Natural vs Unnatural
For my project, I was assigned to create a piece of art that on one side mirrored a concept of natural and the other the concept of unnatural. I considered not the appearance of the project, but the methods used to create them, the natural side is the orangish side, and the unnatural is the pink with the splatters. The natural side was dyed using rust, while the unnatural side is made using RIT dye and bleach (chemicals). I used an old 100% Cotton T-shirt for the material.

Natural Side Process
1. Found a rusty object, (in my case the only thing with enough rust was a metal star in my garage, not the most ideal object because of the ridges on the star.)
2. I mixed 3/4 of a spray bottle with white vinegar and the rest with water.
3. I thoroughly soaked the fabric and wetted the surface.
4. I poured salt on the fabric and the star to help the dyeing process.
5. I covered the fabric and put weight on it. (a sack of rice)
Unnatural Side Process
1. I mixed RIT fuchsia dye with warm water.
2. I let the fabric soak for 4 hours.
3. I rinsed the fabric and let it dry.
4. I took bleach and dripped and flicked it onto the fabric using a Q-tip.
